4 Ways to Stay Motivated!

Trying to "break into" the world of PR can often feel like a never ending and grueling task. I feel like if any person sticks to these 4 tips, breaking into PR (or anything else) can be a little less painful.

Long Term Planning

Having a long term plan allows yourself to see further into the future. Whenever you get stressed because you feel like you're not doing enough, not moving fast enough, or just not succeeding in your current projects; it's always good to have a long term plan that allows you to see if you have been moving on the right track even if you're currently in a rough spot.

Do EVERYTHING

DO EVERYTHING. Especially if you're still in university or college, always volunteer for things that have to do with your field. Gain all of that free experience while meeting like-minded people. Volunteering for things allows you to do well in things that you like. Executives running the event will notice your hard work more often than not and give you more exclusive opportunities if they like the way you work. This is the best way to stay motivated because you're also working at the same time, giving yourself even MORE knowledge.

Never Be Afraid to Talk About Yourself

If you're in the right environment, you should never feel weird about talking about yourself. In the world of business this is called shmoozing. Shmoozing basically means that you discuss your accomplishments and cool stuff you've done in your career. Shmoozing can be good for yourself because it can often remind yourself how far you've come if you feel like you're at a stand-still. It is very important to never undermine all of the work you've done. Shmoozing is a quick and sometimes door-opening way to showcase these accomplishments!

Give Yourself Time to Chill

If you recognize that you are a hard worker, you also need to realize that in order to continue doing quality work, you need to give yourself time to recharge and chill out. Whether that means having a staycation in your backyard or going to Jamaica for a week – DO IT! You deserve time for yourself.

I hope you all enjoyed these tips! Comment below with yours too!
